Alfa-Bank has a long history of placing a strong emphasis on philanthropic work, focus on helping sick children, orphans, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, supporting talented young people, as well as on developing Russian culture and national art.
The key priority of the charitable activity of Alfa-Bank is the support to the Life Line Charity Fund, which was established with the Bank’s participation. The activity of the fund is aimed at saving children suffering from life-threatening diseases.
In 2013 Alfa-Bank as a part of Alfa Group Consortium together with the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences launched a new charitable program – AlfaEndo – to support pediatric endocrinology in Russia, donating US $100 mln to support a health care promotion program for Russian children.
For 20 years Alfa-Bank has been implementing the Alfa Chance scholarship program, which provides gifted students from across the country with individual scholarships. Nowadays the Program associates 17 leading universities from 14 cities of Russia.
Alfa Fellowship Program is an initiative of Alfa-Bank designed to provide direct, hands-on work experience in Russia for young professionals from the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany. The Program was founded in 2004 and since that time it has proved a powerful tool for expanding ties between Russia and these countries, strengthening cultural dialog and cooperation between them.
With financial support of Alfa-Bank regions of Russia every year host concerts and theatrical performances. Being keen on the young generation and modern technologies, Alfa-Bank has been supporting a world-scale open-air festival Alfa Future People, held since near Nizhniy Novgorod.
Alfa-Bank has joint projects with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Russian Chess Association. The Bank also is one of the founders of the National Literary Award “Big Book”. Together with Russian Ministry of Culture, Alfa-Bank has restored the Russian Pavilion in Venice and has been maintaining it for the past eight years. Also, the Bank has been supporting Venice Film Festival.
In 2016 Alfa-Bank became an official European bank of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in Russia.
