Moscow, 21 November, 2002 — Moody's Investors Service has assigned a rating of B1 to the US$175 million issue of three-year senior unsecured notes by Alfa-Russia Finance B.V.
The Joint Stock Company “United Heavy Machinery” (Uralmash-lzhora Group, or UHM) successfully placed $30 mln in Credit Linked Notes (CLNs) on November 15, 2002. The CLNs are tied to a USD loan extended by ING Bank and target foreign investors. The notes mature in two years and carry an 11.25% coupon paid semi-annually.
Alfa Group, VimpelCom and Telenor today announced the closing of a $175.44 million investment in the VimpelCom regional subsidiary, VimpelCom-Region. VimpelCom, affiliates of Alfa Group of Russia and Telenor each invested $58.48 million in VimpelCom-Region. Mikhail Fridman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alfa Group Consortium, Jo Lunder, Chief Executive Officer of VimpelCom, and Jon Fredrik Baksaas, President and Chief Executive Officer of Telenor, signed the documents consummating the closing in Oslo today in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is paying an official visit to Norway, and the Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik.
Moscow, 5 November, 2002 — Alfa-Bank (B1/B-/B) launched and priced a US$175 million three-year Eurobond with a coupon of 10.75% and a yield of 10.95%.
